Norma Kwestel paints with light.
She paints the spirit of landscape and vaguely familiar figures.
A lone house on a hill (or two casitas a few steps from each other) bring to mind the memory of places we have known.

The South West inspires Kwestel with its vibrant colors and rich textures. Her skies are often turquoise, but sometimes alive with the scent of lavender and the brilliant fire of the setting sun.
Kwestel, (also a Flamenco guitarist), infuses her paintings with music, grace and gesture.
The earth moves, dances, and tells its story under her paintbrush
and expresses the lyrical magic that is New Mexico.
